The California Dialysis Council provides an alternative pathway for California’s patient care technicians, by offering a statewide examination option that now satisfies the new Conditions for Coverage (CfC) (Part 49 of Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations) requirement as stated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This alternative pathway will assist a patient care technician in obtaining the necessary measurement of competency to satisfy California’s Department of Public Health practice requirements for their Certified Hemodialysis Technicians (CHT) certificate.

Application Process
Please review the Examination Application Booklet by clicking here. We suggest that you print a copy for your records. The Application Booklet also contains a hard copy of the exam application form and instructions for mailing. Note that a 3 hour period is allowed for completion of the exam.
